How to Apply for the John G. Blakesley Mathematical Excellence Scholarship for 8th Graders
Thanks to the generosity of John G. Blakesley, the Elkhart County Community Foundation (ECCF) is proud to offer a 4-year scholarship to an Elkhart County graduating 8th grade student, to be applied towards 4-years of higher education at an accredited college following the student’s high school graduation.
Each applying student will complete the application and return it to their respective Middle School Guidance Department. The Guidance Department and math teacher(s) at each school will then review the completed applications from which they may select up to two nominees. Original applications for the top nominees will then be delivered to ECCF.
The ECCF Scholarship Committee will review the nominee applications and select one winner. The winner of the John G. Blakesley Mathematical Excellence Scholarship will be awarded $1,250 a year for each of four years for a total award of $5,000. A new winner will be selected each year. As the fund increases, so may the number and amount of future awards.
Scholarship Application Period Closed:
The 2015 application will be available December 1, 2014.
